Our herd of prize winning South Devons
The Tregondale Herd of prize winning Pedigree South Devons was established in 1995 when I retained half of the Trewint herd which has been pedigree since 1947.
With my son Richard we have maintained consistent breeding with ease of calving and natural fleshing. We run 80 cows single suckled, mainly calving in the spring producing prime beef, sold to P. Warren, Guild of Quality Butchers, Launceston at 2 years old with an average weight of 380Kg.
15 Heifers are kept for replacements and most of the remaining females are for sale. 4 or 5 of the best males are kept entire to sell for breeding each year.

There have been no cases of B.S.E. We are also Lepto vaccinated, E.I.D. Tamar Tag. FABBL registered and ABRI recorded.
On the farm of 250 acres we also keep 180 sheep and grow 35 acres of cereal's for our own use.
